Mining with Chocolate

Saturday, March 2, 2024 | 11:00 am – 12:30 pm

Try mining with chocolate! In this special workshop, we will open our own chocolate chip mines with a local environmental scientist and learn about the science behind mining. We will cover topics of exploration, mining, milling, processing, and recycling. Participants will also learn about how a mine can impact the local ecology all while getting hands-on with chocolate.   

Check-in: Check-in opens at 10:45 am. Please arrive early to ensure the event starts on time.

Location: Guelph, ON (Register to receive exact location details)

Ages: This event is for girls and gender-diverse youth ages 7 to 12.

Registration Information: All youth attending must register using the link below. For non-CAGIS members, a guardian is required to stay for the event and must also register below. Participants who are CAGIS members are not required to have a parent/guardian stay for the event. 

Registration Deadline: Friday, March 1 at noon.
