Meet the Expert
Ananya Chakraborty, MSc
Ananya is a PhD student at Queen’s University, where she also completed her Master’s in
Experimental Medicine. Her research dives into understanding why people with obesity may
have trouble feeling full and how the bacteria in our gut can play a role in this process. She’s
passionate about finding new ways to tackle these health challenges and hopes her work will
lead to better treatments for obesity.
Ananya loves everything about science and is all about nurturing curiosity and sparking new
ideas. She’s also a big advocate for women in STEM, working to create supportive and
welcoming spaces for women and girls to pursue careers in science. Her mission is to inspire
the next generation of female scientists to explore, discover, and lead in their fields.
