Making Quantum Waves

Have you ever wondered how the world works at the sub-atomic level? In this workshop with experts from the Institute for Quantum Computing, experiment with lasers and use the wave nature of light to make precise measurements. Discover how we can encode information in light, make secret artwork and learn about how these ideas are applied in new kinds of computers and technology based on quantum mechanics!

Check-in: Check-in is at 1:00PM. Please arrive promptly to ensure the event starts on time.

Location: University of Waterloo, Waterloo, ON. Register to receive exact location.

Ages: This event is for girls and gender-diverse youth ages 7 to 16. All youth will register through one link. This event will be divided into two groups (7-11 year olds and 12-16 year olds). The activity will be slightly modified for each group. 

Registration Information: All youth attending must register using the link below. For non-CAGIS members, a guardian is required to stay for the event and must also register below. Participants who are CAGIS members are not required to have a parent/guardian stay for the event.
