Did you know that different birds lay eggs with different shapes? Some of these egg shapes, like pyriform eggs, are less likely to roll away or fall! Join us to explore nesting behaviour of Owls, Ravens, Crows, and more! Make and test egg shapes, identify bird calls, and more with an ornithologist in this Halloween-themed session!
Participants are invited to wear a Halloween costume. If you wear a costume, you will be entered into a raffle with the chance to win a prize!

Ages 7-12: 8 am PT • 9 am MT • 10 am CT • 11 am ET • 12 pm AT

Meet the Expert
Emily Rondel
Emily Rondel is a naturalist and biologist with a specialization in ornithology; she worked as a biologist at Birds Canada for many years. Emily also served on the board of the Toronto Ornithological Club for 14 years, with three of them as President. She was a co-author of the “Birds of Toronto” book for the City of Toronto’s Biodiversity Series, and is writing the new ROM field guide to the Birds of Ontario. Emily is an eBird reviewer, and a regional coordinator for the Ontario Breeding Bird Atlas. She works as a Biologist with the Canadian Wildlife Service.
