Lights, Physics, Action! Discover how the science of the very small is being used in new technologies in this hands-on workshop from the University of Windsor and the University of Waterloo’s Institute for Quantum Computing. They will introduce us to some of the big ideas behind quantum science and technology and put our new knowledge to the test by making hidden artwork based on the physics of light and the 0’s and 1’s of binary code.
Check-in: Please arrive at 8:30 am for check-in.
Location: Windsor, ON (specific location details will be sent upon registration).
Ages: This event is for girls and gender-diverse youth ages 7 to 10.
Registration Information: All youth attending must register using the link below. For non-CAGIS members, a guardian is required to stay for the event and must also register below. Participants who are CAGIS members are not required to have a parent/guardian stay for the event.

Can you solve the quantum mystery? Discover how the science of the very small is being used in new technologies in this hands-on workshop from the University of Windsor and the University of Waterloo’s Institute for Quantum Computing. They will introduce us to some of the big ideas behind quantum science and technology, including quantum bits, laser interference, and atomic “fingerprints”. We’ll use these ideas to examine evidence and solve the mystery of the missing scientist!
