Ontario Power Generation is leading the charge: 86% of Ontario’s electricity is from clean energy sources like hydroelectricity, nuclear, and wind. In fact, Ontario has one of the cleanest energy grids in the world! Join us to become clean energy experts as we design, build, and optimize our own water wheels! Then, we will put them to the test: how much energy can our water wheels produce?

- Milk carton with plastic lid
- Long bamboo skewer (often used to barbecue)
- Scissors
- At least 30 cm string
- Small paper cup
- Modelling clay
- Dish or tray to catch water
- Tape
- 500 mL water
Meet the Expert
Ginny Marshall
Ginny joined OPG in 2009 and earned a certification as an Authorized Nuclear Operator. Now, she supports student outreach initiatives at the Darlington Nuclear Generating Station. In particular, Ginny is determined to break barriers for girls and gender-diverse youth in STEM!
