Materials and Preparation
- 1 tablespoon of borax (found in the laundry section of the grocery store)
- 1/2 cup of warm water
- 2 tablespoons of white glue (Elmer’s school glue works the best)
- 1 tablespoon of cornstarch
- Food colouring
- Disposable gloves (optional)
- Disposable cups (2-3)
Meet the Expert
Sydney Brooks, PhD
Sydney Brooks is a chemist and the CAGIS Virtual Outreach Coordinator! She worked on biology-inspired scaffolds for nanoparticle assembly, and received her PhD in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Pittsburgh. She is also passionate about science outreach and supporting women in STEM!
