Bats and ravens fly through the air, but what’s the strange figure I see over there?
It’s Halloween and we’re making our own floating ghosts! Get aerodynamic as we explore the physics of flight and turn hovercrafts into spooky spectres. How far can your phantom fly?!
Participants are invited to wear a Halloween costume. If you wear a costume, you will be entered into a raffle with the chance to win a prize!
Time
Ages 7-12: 8 am PT • 9 am MT • 10 am CT • 11 am ET • 12 pm AT
Ages 13-17: 10 am PT • 11 am MT • 12 pm CT • 1 pm ET • 2 pm AT
Materials and Preparation
- Old CD, DVD, or Blue-Ray Disc
- Balloon
- Bottle cap with a push/pull nozzle (see photo)
- Hot glue gun or tape
- Optional: Sharpies to decorate balloon or Halloween-themed balloons!
