Pharmacology in Action

Did you know that medicine goes through a whole journey once it’s inside our bodies? In this session, we will build a molecular model of a medication and explore what would happen to it after entering the body. Discover how medications travel through our system, how they work, and how they get broken down in this fantastic pharmacological session!

 

Time

Ages 7-11: 8 am PT • 9 am MT • 10 am CT • 11 am ET • 12 pm AT
Ages 11-16: 10 am PT • 11 am MT • 12 pm CT • 1 pm ET • 2 pm AT

 
Materials and Preparation

You will need the following materials:

  • Toothpicks (at least 24)
  • Clay, big marshmallows, or playdough 
    • Either 4 different colours of clay/marshmallows/play dough or you will need markers that you can use to write on the clay/marshmallows/play dough

Lisa-Kaye Williams

Lisa-Kaye Williams, RPh MHM CHE CDE

Lisa-Kaye is a Pharmacist, Retail Business Operator, and Certified Diabetes Educator. She holds a BScPhm degree from the University of Toronto and a Master of Health Management degree from McMaster University. She is also a Certified Health Executive (Canadian College of Health Leaders).
