Calling all as-pi-ring mathematicians… CAGIS Virtual is celebrating Pi Day!
Pi (not pie) is the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. It’s an irrational number, so it is never-ending: so far, over THREE TRILLION digits have been calculated! Join us as we make our own spirographs, geometric drawing tools, and dive into the science of circles with mathematics student and CAGIS graduate, Karah!
Time
Ages 7-12: 8 am PT • 9 am MT • 10 am CT • 11 am ET • 12 pm AT
Ages 13-17: 10 am PT • 11 am MT • 12 pm CT • 1 pm ET • 2 pm AT

Meet the Expert
Karah Jensen
Karah Jensen is a fourth year student at the University of Toronto majoring in Mathematics, with minors in Statistics and Political Science, and she will be graduating this spring. A proud CAGIS alum, she enjoys making math feel approachable and fun. She’s excited to return as a STEM Expert for Pi Day and explore the number through an interactive and hands-on session.
This programming was developed by Karah Jensen, Mikaela Moore, and Sydney Brooks.
