Time
Ages 7-12: 8 am PT • 9 am MT • 10 am CT • 11 am ET • 12 pm AT
Ages 13-17: 10 am PT • 11 am MT • 12 pm CT • 1 pm ET • 2 pm AT
Materials and Preparation
- 1 cup almond flour (or whole almonds blended finely beforehand) or substitute no-bake flour such as rice, coconut, or oat flour (be sure to check that it is a no-bake flour!)
- ⅔ cup nut butter (almond butter, cashew butter, or peanut butter – sunflower seed butter is a nut-free alternative)
- ½ tsp vanilla or almond extract
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
- 1 tsp pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, or other seeds of your choice
- ⅓ cup and 1 cup measuring cups
- ½ tsp, 1 tsp, and 1 tbsp measuring spoons
- 1 large mixing bowl
- A spatula or a wooden spoon to mix with
- Baking sheet
- Parchment paper
Optional Add-ins:
- 1 tbsp Chia seeds
- 1 tbsp flax seeds
- 1 tbsp dried cranberries
- 1 tbsp chopped nuts
- 1 tbsp chocolate chips
- One small cup/bowl if using chia or flax seeds
- Small silicon molds for treats

Karen is a food scientist, educator, and consultant. She has worked with some of the largest food brands to develop new products and has become an expert in food and beverage innovation.
She is the founder of True Leaves Consulting, a product development agency focused on helping food entrepreneurs create and optimize food & beverage recipes from concept to commercialization.
