Sushruti Tanksali, MSc.

My name is Sushruti Tanksali. I currently work as a Tutor at the Homework Club, an initiative by The Calgary Bridge Foundation for Youth. I’m originally from India and graduated from SPPU Pune, where I was a University Rank Holder and received a gold medal for my accomplishments in both undergraduate and master’s studies in Pharmacy.

I’m passionate about motivating students to pursue science and currently work with immigrant children, helping them with social-emotional learning, settling into Canadian life, and fostering their interest in STEM fields.

One of my proudest accomplishments is my research in anti-cancer drug development. I’ve published three papers in international journals, showcasing a novel combination of two marketed anti-cancer drugs that significantly reduce toxicity and side effects while providing targeted cancer treatment. I continue to work on this research, hoping to bring it to market in collaboration with my college guide.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking, dancing, badminton, painting, and practicing calligraphy. My professional background includes roles in research and development and quality control in pharmaceutical industries. These roles have taught me the importance of precision, accountability, and a deep commitment to quality—values I bring to all my endeavours.

Science is an endlessly fascinating field; there’s always something new to learn and explore. Though research can be slow, it never fails to ignite curiosity and passion. I hope to inspire others to see the beauty and possibilities within this discipline.
