Calling all heroes! In this session, we will design our own cities and protect them from a huge, incoming storm! Explore how water moves through natural and urban areas, and design innovative solutions to protect your city from flooding and maintain ecosystems. The future of the city depends on you!

Time

Ages 7-11: 8 am PT • 9 am MT • 10 am CT • 11 am ET • 12 pm AT
Ages 11-16: 10 am PT • 11 am MT • 12 pm CT • 1 pm ET • 2 pm AT


Materials and Preparation

You will need a computer with access to an Internet browser. 

Optional: Since you will need to see your own screen and the STEM Expert’s screen for this activity, it could be helpful to have a second monitor or join the session from a different device than the one you will use for the activity.

 

Meet the Expert

Sabrina Jivani

Sabrina Jivani

Sabrina is a Master’s student doing research in environmental engineering. She has a background in Earth and Environmental Sciences and previously worked as a geoenvironmental scientist. She is passionate about engineering solutions to protect water quality.
