Smarties for Smarties!

Are blue Smarties really more rare than red Smarties? Do all Smarties boxes have the same number of candies? Join us to conduct our own candy-coated experiments and answer our questions like scientists, by calculating means, ranges, standard deviations, and more! This will be one of the rare occasions when you can EAT your data after you’re done!

Time

Ages 7-12: 8 am PT • 9 am MT • 10 am CT • 11 am ET • 12 pm AT
Ages 13-17: 10 am PT • 11 am MT • 12 pm CT • 1 pm ET • 2 pm AT

Dr. Evelyn Vingilis

Dr. Evelyn Vingilis is a recently retired psychologist and Professor Emerita at Western University. She continues her research on injury prevention and control, at-risk youth, mental health, knowledge transfer and program evaluation methodology. Dr. Vingilis was Director of the Population and Community Health Unit and Professor with the Departments of Family Medicine and Epidemiology and Biostatistics in the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University. She has authored over 250 research articles and was recipient of the Widmark Award, the highest honour bestowed by the International Council on Alcohol, Drugs and Traffic Safety (ICADTS) and  the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals.
