CAGIS: A Lasting Impact

CAGIS programming is informed by scientific research on how to support underrepresented youth in STEM, in addition to frequent and ongoing evaluation. Results of annual evaluations with current participants, and follow up evaluations with graduates (alum) demonstrate strong and lasting impact.

CAGIS Chapters (in person) 2025 Evaluation ResultsAmong CAGIS Chapter participants: • 99% liked participating in CAGIS Chapters • 99% learned new things • 100% had fun • 100% found it inspiring to meet STEM experts Additionally, CAGIS Chapters made: • 100% of participants want to learn more about STEM • 100% of participants feel like they could be good at STEM • 96% of participants consider a career in STEM CAGIS Virtual (online) 2025 Evaluation Results Among CAGIS Virtual participants: • 100% liked participating in CAGIS Virtual • 100% learned new things • 97% had fun • 100% found it inspiring to meet STEM experts Additionally, CAGIS Virtual made: • 100% of participants want to learn more about STEM • 97% of participants feel like they could be good at STEM • 97% of participants consider a career in STEM Longitudinal Evaluation: Surveys of Graduates In follow-up surveys (2017, 2022), 94% of CAGIS alum respondents were studying or working in STEM fields. In open-ended responses, most attributed their career trajectories to CAGiS; many discovered their careers at CAGIS events!
