Materials and Preparation
Members are eligible to receive a free kit from CAGIS if they register and submit the supplies form (attached in registration confirmation email) before Friday, May 1st, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
Additional materials required for the session:
- Scissors
- Electrical Tape
Non-members and participants who do not register before May 1st can purchase their materials for the session.
Materials included in Free Kits:
- 10mm LED bulb
- 10 in copper tape
- 5 in copper wire
- Wide popsicle stick
- 3V coin cell battery
- Binder clip
Meet the Expert
Stephanie McLean
Stephanie McLean is a Red Seal Electrician and a passionate advocate for women and youth in skilled trades. With years of experience on projects across Ontario, she has built a reputation for excellence, precision, and leadership in the field of electrical work. Beyond her technical expertise, Stephanie is committed to mentorship and empowering the next generation of tradespeople, guiding apprentices and young workers to pursue rewarding careers in the industry.
Her dedication to advocacy has made her a visible and respected voice within her union and the broader construction community. She actively participates in outreach initiatives, speaking to students and underrepresented groups about opportunities in the trades, while also working to improve equity, safety, and representation on worksites.
In 2025, Stephanie’s contributions were nationally recognized when she was named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 in the Women in Skilled Trades category. This honour reflects not only her personal achievements but also her commitment to paving the way for others showcasing the strength, resilience, and talent of women in the skilled trades.
