Curious minds can get these answers and more with OPG’s new WattNext energy education program.

Produced in partnership with the Ontario Science Centre and Ontario Tech University, the innovative and interactive initiative aims to answer energy questions big and small. From how our electricity system works to the innovative technologies that are set to power our future, WattNext has it covered through a comprehensive suite of resources – including a dynamic website, hands-on exhibits, curriculum-aligned programming, and community events.

“As Ontario’s energy transformation continues, and with electricity demand forecasted to increase in the coming decades, there has never been a better time to discover, decipher, and learn about the province’s electricity system,” said Nicolle Butcher, OPG’s President and CEO. “I invite all Ontarians, young and old, to take a deep dive into WattNext and learn more about their power and our clean energy future.”

To inspire the next generation, WattNext also highlights rewarding careers in the energy sector, connecting youth and job seekers with the skilled professions Ontario will need to electrify life in one generation.

The program and website will continue to evolve as it works alongside schools, STEM organizations, and industry partners—all in an effort to equip Ontarians with the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions about energy and career opportunities.
