Every year, on February 11, CAGIS marks the United Nation’s International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This year, with your help, we launched an online collection of images and stories responding to the question:
“What do you want people to know about gender equity in STEM?”
We were overwhelmed by the breadth and insight of the responses we received from youth, STEM professionals, and supporters all across Canada. Here are just a few!
The online collection received national and local media attention, with features on CBC Radio, Global News Winnipeg, and CityNews, bringing awareness to the campaign and to the issue of gender equity in STEM. We also saw a spike in engagement on our Clubhouse website with double the number of online visitors in the week leading up to February 11.
We want to share a big thank you to everyone who participated and made this February 11 a huge success! We hope the collection will inspire you to continue to use your voice toward building gender equity in STEM.
